Co-op Activities

A Regal Beloit co-op position not only provides a strong educational and occupational experience, but a terrific social experience as well.  Teamwork is an essential part of working in a professional environment and Regal Beloit co-ops have the opportunity to gain this skill while working on teams in the workplace and participating on teams in extracuricular and volunteer activities.

Co-op Committees

RBC co-ops can participate in different co-op committees to help ensure all co-ops have the most beneficial co-op experience possible.  Co-ops are encouraged to participate in the Social/Community Service (SoCom), Professional or Web Design Committee.

The Professional Committee seeks to further enhance the professional development of the co-op program by hosting regular meetings featuring guest speakers from the company and the community. The goal of this committee is to educate co-ops on the different businesses and departments within Regal Beloit and to also help students establish relationships with key leaders in the company.

The Social and Community Committee (SOCOM) is a way for co-ops to connect both at work and outside of work. Co-ops have the opportunity to participate in activities, events, and weekly lunches, as well as community outreach through Junior Achievement and the United Way.

The Website Committee works on maintaining and updating this co-op website, ensuring that all information is accurate and presented professionally.

The SoCom Committee plans and coordinates a fundraising or community

                                   service event each semester.

RBC/GE Athletic Leagues

Co-ops who are interested can participate in seasonal athletic leagues such as golf, volleyball, basketball, and softball.

Annual Indiana Co-op Challenge

This Olympic-style day of events is held every summer for participating Indiana companies.  Co-ops compete in various activities such as flag football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, running, paddle boat, badminton, and tug-of-war.  Regal-Beloit placed second in last years challenge.
